Monday night I went to the first rehearsal for Central Florida Comunity Arts choir's new show. Going to be fun. Especially since I was reunited with 2 good friends that I have worked with before.
Doing battle with soundproofing materials. The first fight was getting it into the room - most of the rolls "only" weigh 90lb but one of them was 135lb. I had thought I could carry it with some help from my wife but it soon became clear that wasn't happening. So I called on a friend who drives past my house on his way home from work and we carried it up into the work room. Now I've got it screwed to the wall studs. I put the heavy one at ground level to make it easier to work with. Now I need to borrow a drywall hoist so I can get the rest of it in place over the walls and across the ceiling, then drywall over the top of it. I'm really hoping it cuts down a lot of the road noise - it's supposed to offer something like 27dB of attenuation of low frequency noises, and if it works I'll use it along other walls that face the road. Yesterday morning was when I did battle getting the first (heavy) roll into place. This morning my arms and legs ached, so taking an easier day of it today.
Might just dump night shifts till May - work only weekend days then retire and relocate. So much to do and turn-around shifts are hard on the physique. Cut firewood; remodel 1 bathroom; tape & paint interior of storage unit; organise tools & stuff for moving - overwhelming.
Like an elephant, bro. one bite at a time, and throw out the parts you don't want... Isn't all of life about having so much to do, and then the longing to relocate!
Okay. Gorgeous weather. Load the log splitter in Helena. Start the vehicle. Blizzard conditions. Complete white-out for 30 miles.
Yeah, see, that's no fun. I think I would love Montana for, oh, six months of the year. But those other six? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Both our vehicles are looking pretty nasty after a couple trips up the hill. I don't want to wash them down quite yet as the temps still dropping well below 0.
I had a client today ask me if eating Chinese food and drinking Mexican beer would immunize him against the corona virus. He'll be out of the hospital as soon as the bruises heal up...
