Going out after work with the wife to dinner at Applebee’s. Then we are going to Barnes & Noble for some reason.
Just got back from a daily walk around town. It's a nice walk, maybe a little under 3 miles on gently rolling hills. When the weather isn't too hot, too cold or too wet my wife and I like to walk our little loop. Now I'm back home and still enjoying the sound of my furnace not running. I'm not sure to what extent it's because it's not horribly cold, or because we've largely abandoned the side of the house that faces into the cold wind to the cold, or because of the work I've done mending holes in the wall, but in the last month we've used barely a quarter of our oil. It will be interesting to see how much oil is delivered next time. The oil company usually predicts when we'll need about 350 gallons, so I'm hoping they actually deliver 250 or less.
Looks like I get to do some plumbing work now. My wife commented it was taking an age to get hot water through the kitchen tap. I know the pipes aren't laid out in the most efficient manner but when I traced the hot water pipe from the furnace to the kitchen tap I was surprised just how tortuous the route was. So I suspect I'm going to be replacing that come Monday. I have a roll of red PEX and just need a bunch of connectors to make it all happen. I suspect my local hardware shop is going to start liking my spending patterns again very soon.
New job prospect: Weighmaster. 40 hrs per wk at desk. No weekends. No hard labor. Already know most of the job. Praying for it.
Had some luck. Went to a home and garden show yesterday, just for grins and giggles, not planning anything. My carport roof has a leak. I've talked to several roofers about it but nobody wanted to do it since it is such a small job (the roof on the house is fine. It was done not that long ago.) There were 2 roofers at the show, and both of them said they would do it. So I'm going to get a couple quotes and may get it done.
