Well, late night tv and Saturday late night comedy progamming won't be nearly as hilarious as it's been over the past 4 years.
Oh, I don't know. A grown man in a diaper sniffing women's hair, shouting at unseen persons offscreen, and never knowing where he is might make for good comedy, if someone would only put it out there. C'mon, man... you know, the the the thing. There's plenty of morbid, dark humor from DC to go around!
And the "halo" shots of St. Joey the Divine are never ending... And, below that, I submit for your sincerest consideration...
I couldn't help notice the number of times he was photographed with that halo effect. Surely it's just a coincidence. Needless to say the Babylon Bee is having a field day just lately.
In unrelated news, I got some foam sprayed behind a chimney that I'd really rather remove completely but I'm not sure if it serves any structural purpose. I don't think it does but I'd rather not give gravity the chance to demonstrate just how structurally important it once was, so I'll leave it alone. It may be that I can take at least the top half of it out, just not right away. Anyway, there was quite a draft getting in around it and I found yet another gap in the wall right by one edge of it where a joist rests, so used an entire can of spray foam to fill up lots of space. Now it doesn't feel so drafty in there. I think this means work on the kitchen can be suspended while I work in the room above. That section is next up to be gutted and rebuilt. I've done most of the gutting and I'm hoping that the rebuild process will be free from nasty surprises.
Got a little electrical work done. I figured I should probably strap a makeshift light into my work room so I can continue to work after sunset. I got some wires into place but ran out of light - I really needed more than a work light can provide, given I need to be in three different places to connect everything up. I can finish that piece of work tomorrow.
Do you have a full panorama/ "little village and mountains with a tunnel" setup, or just set up on the floor/plywood. I've never had a train set, but I've always wished I had the time and the room for the whole shebang. Spent hours on vacation as a kid mesmerized by the model setup at the (then) Chatanooga Choo Choo Hilton...
It's more like a really big diorama at this point - a long narrow shelf along two walls but with potential to expand. I'll post some pictures when I get it back to normal after the rewiring. I hope to expand it but it needs to share room with the kids for now. The theme is a switching layout with several industries and an intermodal yard. The selection and quality of offerings now is amazing but the costs can be a barrier for many.
I remember having a train set as a child. It was on a big sheet of board so it could be rested up against a wall when not in use. I also remember my dad adjusting the voltage so the trains would run faster, only to turn it down again when he realised that the trains going faster required a lot more finesse than I had at that age, and model trains routinely coming off at speed on the corners wasn't good for anything in the area.
My dad built in part of the attic where I grew up for the layout. Only problem was it was so hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It was also a low ceiling. We would also rocket the locomotives around the layout. Never really had problems with them jumping the track though.
My attic here has the same problem, as it's mostly uninsulated. At least the ceiling is nice and high, for what that's worth Of course it may just be that you show(ed) a little more finesse than me at driving the trains
Here's a tight shot from the layout in an area not in complete disarray. I'm fairly proud of my homemade telephone poles made from meat skewers, balsa wood, styrene and insulators borrowed from plastic telegraph poles. Still needs a proper backdrop and some more scenic elements.
Joe Biden, known for getting nothing done politically, and now, not even humour?! More of the same, although Trump set up those executive orders for him, so I guess he's done something after all.
