Just found out that a family on our school had their house burned this morning. No injuries to the family.

Sitting in the MRI/CT scan waiting room. The wife needs an MRI so we just drove 400 km to the nearest one.

Whoa! Does this pertain to a stone? Prayers this evening.

No. This has to do with ongoing back (disk mainly) issues.

Friend in Salem Ore has been consigned to flat on his back on the floor for over 4 weeks.

Huge swelling, herniated disk (s), and the VA will only provide physical therapy, and pills.

I sure will be praying about this.

For those that use the English system that is roughly 250 miles (248.5+ to be precise)

    Ouch.

Treatment here is pretty much the same. Surgery is generally not performed until there is a severe loss of function. In lower back cases that usually means loss of bowel control. If that happens, surgery is performed immediately. Something like 85% of disk issues normally will go away with treatment through non-invasive means, physiotherapy and other methods as well as pain medications and nerve blocks.

My wife comes from a family of bad backs, so it's probably going to be an ongoing issue for much of the rest of her life. There's disk swelling, stenosis, bone spurs and scar tissue - it's kind of a mess.

    Thanks. That is always appreciated.

Calling the dentist tomorrow. Either a filling has fallen out (which I suspect), or potential new cavity ;\

Ah, the glories of the NIH.

Did they go ahead and schedule for the extraction?

It will be next year before your appointment, nuh?

Completed an Emergency First Aid course today. The moral of that story is I hope no one has an accident around me.

October 12th, as long as I mentioned paying privately. Speak of NHS dentistry led to a lot of um's and ah's about dates.
