WOW... sounds like you must have done something right in life. I'll probably never make it out of the concrete jungle.

Forgot the intentional malice that was inflicted upon your peers and friends... or the false prophesying?

    Nope.

    You?

I haven't forgotten the intentional cruelty, nor the false prophecy. I must be somewhat thankful though, as both contributed to my slow realization of what a lie Christianity is. The forum was a painful catalyst to that truth.

Another pair of fresh caught coho salmon were dropped off at our door. We are going to be eating a lot of salmon this fall and winter. I still need to work on my filleting skills.

HL, Christianity stands or falls with the resurrection.

Not what people do to each other.

Not even that we love you and we can imagine to some extend the pain you are (were) going through, not even if you had been treated well.

    It's all irrelevant.

What's relevant is the question if Christ resurrected, if not, only then Christianity is a lie.

It looks like the light I am seeing in the distance may be the end of the tunnel and not an on coming train. After going up to my local Social Security office 3 times because the incompetent people there couldn't get the documents I brought them into the computer I finally found one that knew what she was doing. Managed to get the phone number of the local office and, low and behold, I had one that was competent. Made an appointment with her directly. Took the documents to her. She got them in. Recorded my extreme displeasure about having trouble getting hold of the agent that was working on my case. The agent processed the forms and called me with the information. And even called me back when I called this weekend with a question. I wish I didn't have to get upset to get action but that does seem to be the only way to get it.

Seems increasingly universal these days. Doesn't matter what I what attempt to do - it invariably gets snarled by a bureaucratic snafu :(

I learned awhile ago that harassment is the only way to get things out of the government, so if they say '48 hours' and I don't hear anything in 48 hours, then I start harassing people until they get so sick it gets done just to get me out of their hair.

There's even Biblical support for that.

I can harass when I need to but don't like to. Makes me feel awful and takes me days to get over it.

Having dealt a little with our provincial government, you quickly realize that you need to argue only using the Act/Regulations that governs whatever issue you have. Getting mad with bureaucrats does nothing (or only hinders). But lay out the section/paragraph that you deem to be applied (or not applied) will get you way further. This of course does not always apply to your everyday issues.

    Interesting reference @teddy

I harass in a nice way. Like teddyv says there's no point getting mad with or arguing with whoever picks up the phone, answers the e-mail etc. I've just seen too much incompetence that leads to 'Oops! You don't mind that we screwed up do you? Of course you don't'.

Question: Could you advise me on available service packages for such and such vehicle and at this mileage and set me up with a possible appointment?

Ans: I don't know the details of the plans; I know they change the oil and make an inspection to see if anything else is needed.

    Make a visit.

    Have you been Helped?

Yes, I need to see about your service packages and set up an appointment.

You can talk with one of the cashiers over there.

Does she have information concerning service packages?

    Oh, sure.

Can you give me information about service packages and set me up with an appointment

I know nothing about the details of the service packages; you'll need to talk with one of the service managers over there. But since you are at 27,500 miles, why not bump it up to the 30,000 package?

Do you know what is in that package?

No; you'll need to talk with one of the ser...

    Can I help you?

Yes, she said I need to talk with one of you about a service package...

Oh! You need to talk with a cashier about that.

I did. She told me to talk you you.

I'm afraid I'm involved with another customer at the moment, but ... :.:
