Wife got one kidney stone dealt with, but involved a weekend in another town that could do the procedure.
Just got word. No dancing for me tonight. Not enough people to make a square. Would have been interesting. We would have had a substitute caller tonight.
Downloaded and re-watching "Farscape" season one. Forgot what a great series it is. Trying to wind down in anticipation of big changes starting in May. One major project will complete tomorrow, and several others by the end of the month. Would actually like to rest for a month, but... 8)
Whoa, Friday 8) Spending the weekend wrapping up all work projects - loading the trailer with tools and putting equipment away seems to be taking days. Big changes in May include less physical work, though I am being recruited for a project in Sacramento - have not decided on that, and will spend most of the summer in the Bay Area and the City, moving around a lot, Lord willing. After this latest, brutal, project, I just want to go lay around somewhere, but we know that is not in the cards Major dental (implants) beginning next week, with a little bit of corrective surgery. Looking so forward to that - not! Heading for the hot-tub/spa Monday. I could sleep for a week, but am extremely grateful for a change in venue and the Lord's many blessings 8)
Thinking of playing some 8-bit armies (Steam or gog). If anyone is into RTS' send me a PM and we can play a few. But also worked my allotted 6 hours by 1PM, because who doesn't want to wake up super early to the sound of loud construction workers taking down scaffolding.
Back in the upper 80's already 8) A few days more of finishing work then heading back to the Bay Area - cherishing the prospect of escaping the persistent 100 degree plus summers around here. I will likely continue to reside here but work elsewhere - have work lining up in the area but won't take it if it's not comfortable. Comes with age But it's actually cheaper to keep my equipment and residence here and travel, even with bridge tolls, than attempt to live in the City, which has gotten to be outrageous with the tech boom going on - the median rent for a one bedroom (and lousy) apartment is $3600.00. Of course the outreach ministry in the City will continue in earnest, which is the prime motivator in this change. I ramble cause I am a happy camper 8) Kick'n back and jammin. Rain, glorious rain (3days, off and on) - smells tremendous 8) A self-forced day off. Did all my accounting and appointment stuff online and stayed in the rack. First full day of rest in ages (I wake up in pain but have tended to ignore it). 3 appointments in San Fran Monday am after a long morning commute, then back to Citrus Heights for the next major Dental session Tuesday afternoon The teeth plan will stretch out a month and a half with horrible procedures in store
Recovering from yesterday. Helped my girlfriend move rooms. Which included helping the maintenance man move their refrigerator. Could hardly get out of bed this morning. Doing better after I'd been moving for a bit but still a bit stiff and sore.
It's only taken ~two years and a dozen Mormon missionaries, but we've finally been visited by the Jehovah's Witnesses. Gotta say they got some clever people behind their Watchtower handouts, beats the book of Mormon by miles.
Yeah, but hand them the first chapter of John, in Koine Greek. Oh, hand it to them upside down. My dad did that once, and it was hilarious.
Yeah, I was involved in the Witness organization for several years. They definitely do teach you how to debate with others. But, as RK pointed out, they do distort scripture to fit their theology, one of the big reasons I figured they couldn't be true Christians and left their organization. Witnesses don't believe in the Trinity and don't believe Jesus is God. They made John1:1 say, "In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was a god." Not God. That alone convinced me they were not Christians. That and the very controlling cult atmosphere there didn't help.
