Eye exam, came back with contact lenses. Incredible, just incredible. Still have to wear glasses once in a while, but I don't know how I managed with them.
Yeah. Wait until you see what it does to your golf game... You can actually see the hazards that you hit the ball into...
More than that, I'll be able to see where I've actually hit the ball and not have to rely on someone else to tell me :S
I hear you. I wear hard contacts at night, which reshape my cornea and give me 20/15 vision. (without it, I'm about 20/500). If I go a couple of nights without wearing them, my vision softens to about 20/50 or 20/75. Played golf one day after a few nights without the contacts and I felt like a blind man. I couldn't even see a ball in the fairway at 200 yards...
Hand-aerated, seeded and topsoiled (1/4") about 10,000 sq' of drought damaged lawn. Then minimally watered each morning for 7 days, until about 3/4" of rain fell as of last night. Today's sunshine greeted about 5-6" of thick, rich, uniform turf 8) Okay, back to studies. Work tomorrow.
The snowpack is actually melting quicker than what had been hoped for as the effects of El Nino seem to have diminished, at least temporarily. For this part of the state, rationing will likely continue though there has been some hopeful improvement. Average lake levels are up in terms of inches, whereas depletion has been in terms of tens of feet. The southern regions of the state faired much better.
Yeah I went golfing once without my glasses... terrible idea. But for all that I'm still a scratch golfer
I tried bowling once without my glasses (the frame broke). It ended up in tears. ;.;. Of course it was a league night.
Was watching a new series on TV the other night (Madame Secretary) and there was this woman with such a typical voice and I knew I heard that voice before and after a while it came back. It was Lilith from Cheers............... One of the best Cheers characters.
El Niño is back and threatening. Heavy snows in the Sierras and a wet stretch ahead. Digging a shallow trench with a 10" berm on one side for temporary water control till project is completed 8) No need for watering, thank the Lord.
It used to drive my wife nuts. I would hear someone doing a voiceover for a commercial, or someone in a show that had been on another show (but in heavy makeup such as seeing Michel Dohrn without his Warf makeup) and be able to identify them by only their voice.
Hooray! A new book: "Seven Brief Lessons in Physics," by Carlo Rovelli. Translated from the Italian. Published Sept. 24, 2015 9 bucks on Kindle and a surprisingly smooth ride.
