Those cats are hilarious. Why are they so afraid of cucumbers?

  2. Liquid Tension

Liquid Tension No, it's NOT a fish!!!

I don't think it's necessarily the cucumber. You could probably place anything behind them like that and they'd freak out. I need to try this out on my cat. Is that mean?? ;.;. ;~:

I have three cats too many. I've been meaning to experiment and I keep forgetting to pick up cucumbers.

Rain has let up. Will work Christmas, a perfect opportunity and perennial means of escaping the holiday.

Then fun and on the road Saturday and Sunday.

Getting close to completing all work projects - it's been rough, but productive.

Have a blessed Christmas and New Year all 8)

Finished wrapping presents 3:15 A.M. (I was not in a rush...)

Wondering what to make of life and living, since it is Christmas.

My daughter showed me the cucumber/cat videos today...thought of you all.

I need one of these. With a massage.

The sauna was disappointing :( It was set to 90c, but lacked a stove / rocks, so I sat there for ~40 minutes at a time waiting to get hot enough to want to leave, while random Scots opened the door and decided immediately that it was too hot to enter.

Beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel and a wrapping-up of demanding work projects.

It was such an extended uphill battle and required so much concentration I'm almost afraid to finish and walk away.

    Almost.

Focus will change dramatically with the new year and should be far less physical.

    Much more time for outreach.

Preparing for my next and likely last visit to the klinischer Psychologe, and rather entertained by this (unobjectionable) clip from the Life of Brian:

We have finally fully kitted out the family with cross-country ski gear. Hopefully tomorrow we can test it out. We checked out the local nordic ski area today and it was absolutely stunning up there - and only 20 minutes away.

"Holy downspot Batman!" El Nino pours into under-house space. Relatively simple fix.

    It never ends 8)

That there downspout is in need of some serious re-routing...

"Here... let me point all the rainwater into my basement."

    De-christmasizing the house currently.

We've got some unfortunate folks in town in danger of flooding due to an ice jam on the river. We are personally in no danger though.

Typical for the area: downspout is connected to flexible pipe which snakes under the yard and empties into a drainage or flood control ditch.

Only trouble is the pipe has been thoroughly plugged for sometime and corrupted by tree roots.

Meanwhile, water flows under the rain-sweep and under the house just like opening a tap. Entire space has seen 3 to 4 inches.

Flood watch is in effect, also.

Complete new gutter system, collection box and re-routing finished tomorrow, Lord willing.

Then onto the next catastrophe 8)

Am thinking about investing in, remodelling and flipping houses.

I've done a few flips over the years.

You have to buy it right, fix it right and cost-effectively, and price it aggressively.

Carrying costs will eat your profits if you don't.
