Finished setting up Debian - might make a complete transition to FOSS and save software cost... ...For the most part. Some text editors are worth paying for.
Think Dreamweaver (CS6) is worth the money though I've miles to go before having learned all it's functions.
Sublime Text 3 is what I had in mind; there's also PHPStorm. Dreamweaver has a certain stigma associated with it, so I've never bothered with it.
I have a brown thumb. I kill plastic plants. The only reason I have plants around my house is because I don't mess with them. I have a 30+ ft. Norfolk pine by my house. When my fife and I planted it it was about 2 ft. (it was one of those small decorated trees you find in the stores around Christmas). I left it alone and now it's huge.
I found an open-source database package for geological and drilling data with absolutely no documentation. It actually looks to be a pretty good setup (still a bit buggy), but it would be nice to have at least a cursory help document. The only reason I even have a clue as to what's going on is my employer was implementing something similar. Oh well, you get what you pay for... I've also been messing around with an open-source GIS package (QGIS), which I must say is also quite good. Sure beats how ever many thousands of dollars you pay for ArcGIS.
After some 36 years of city living, I currently stay in an enclave where residents are under contract to maintain a certain percentage of greenery or vegetation on their lots. A 55+ community, it's mostly retired folk slavishly laboring to keep their yards up. People even in their 80's doing admirable work, when not playing golf (attached course), hiking or working on their RVs or travelling to campsites. Guy could get used to this 8)
HaHa! Just heard that the young man who bought my late Mom's residence was seen late afternoon wearing a headlamp and running a leaf-blower. Boy would she be impressed
Reminds me of a friend of mine. He is blind but you often forget that. He was out one night at about 10 PM washing his car (no he doesn't drive it but he owns it). A friend happened to see him and asked him "what are you doing out here this late washing your car?" I replied "What difference does it make to me?" Like I said people, especially those who know him, often forget that he's blind.
Finally concluded that I'm tired Of life? If this was posted this morning I likely would have said that I am ready to quit life. But in reality the physically strenuous stuff will draw to a close. Pre-existing condition is taking it's toll, big time, but there is so much to do that doesn't require hard labor - hiring more, though fraught with problems, is one option.
Hopefully you've moved from the first waiting room, to the second waiting room. You're almost there. ;.;.
Actuallu it's mu girlfriends sister that has the appoontment. But I still get the treatment. At least the hospital has wifi so I can get a few things done.
Hard to believe it's almost Monday am, again Still fighting the clock, prepping for licensing tests while attempting to finish some difficult, unpleasant work as soon as possible, while health and other battles continue to rage. Will go all-out this week, aim for the 1st as a marker and go from there. In the mornings I think I'm losing it :'(
Learned yesterday that our pastor is moving. So starting in January we will have a new pastor to get used to.
Don't know what your wife is taking but that would interest my dad. He could follow it up with something on metallurgy.
It's the school where my wife works. The presentation is for another teacher (Grade 8-9 social studies) and they are going to a local open-pit mine for a tour in a couple days
