I could use some good BBQ. Haven't had any real good BBQ in a long time. The local BBQ place I go to is pretty good but it doesn't hold a candle to some I had when I was living in TX.
I lived in Texas a couple years. Carolina BBQ is so different from anything I have ever tasted. I have now acquired that taste for Carolina BBQ..but I will say this-- If I cannot get to Kansas City to taste their version--I will never be able to make a fair comparison. I have a friend who makes the best ribs I have ever tasted, with a Kansas City type of rub/marinade. No sauce required.
I've never had a chance to try it, but I have seen them made (I watch cooking shows) and they do look good.
Welp, deciding if I should head up US-50 east from Citrus Heights Ca to So Lake Tahoe and survey the damage from the Kng's Fire which consumed close to 160 Sq miles. Pretty rugged area and one lane under construction in some areas. Beautiful region. Got the Sony camera and will up some images if I get some good ones.
I got two bike rides coming up this week. Pretty excited. And I also signed up for the MS Bike Ride in March. 175 miles in 2 days.
Just finishing up exterior renovation (carpentry and masonry) on a house. Work marathon this weekend preparing for full paint job starting prolly on Monday. Need to beat the approaching rain season which will likely be a no-show. Possibly out for two weeks or there abouts.
First week at the new job. It's going well but I'm exhausted and still trying to find my footing. Y'all have a great weekend!
Sitting in the parking lot of the Home Depot type hardware store, checking our forums. Home Depot and Walmart -- welcome the New Word Order
Getting ready to resume my practice. Had to stop for a bit as I had to go back to work and drop off the managers keys. ;~:
Prepping seemingly miles of fancy exterior woodwork for painting, balancing dry-times with vague weather predictions and brief rains. Still much of an improvement over the constant 95 to 105 days of this summer 8)
Rain moving in - rare occurrence. Quitting early and heading for my bi-monthly JACUZZI!!! Yeah, baby 0:0 :l:; ;D 8) ;.;. a;m;e;n;
Wrote my PPE this morning. I think it went OK, but it'll be 6 weeks before I know. Thinking of staring at my resume for a while.
Stopped by the pharmacy to get a flu shot on Sunday, just in case. Wasn't my usual place and got fed-up with all the waiting as I had things to do. So I put it off for a couple days. Then, about 2am this morning - guess what? Long story short - this one begins with racing heart, fever and wicked congestion. Rest this afternoon then back to work tomorrow, regardless - the rainy season approches and need to be set-up in the big City by Christimas. The harvest is ripe.
