Being that it's pretty much official, isn't it sad that the best thing one can say about Clinton and Trump is, no matter how much you polish a turd, it's still a turd. What's even more sad is this is what a majority of voters wanted. Stupid is as stupid does.
I love being right. I called this scenario several months back. Right on this forum. I'm not enamored with Trump. I don't agree with everything he says, but I do agree with some stuff. I'll vote for him, only because I think he'll screw things up less than Clinton will. Clinton is scary to me, though Sanders scares me more. I am not ok with socialism. I am not ok with liberalism. Both labels fit Clinton and Sanders to a tee. I'll vote for Trump on that basis alone. Being the pessimist that I am, though, I'm calling it right now...Clinton will win. Trump will, no doubt, give it a hell of a fight. However, I think that America, unfortunately, is turning socialist. We're getting more and more people, especially among the youth, that are turning into wussies and adopting the "I don't want to have to work. I want the 'gubmint' to take care of me" mentality. Which only works under a socialist system of government. Which Clinton wants to bring us to. God bless America. Or whatever...
We could all see the Clinton vs Trump scenario coming down the pike, even though we didn't really want to accept it until it became inevitable. Anyhoo --- any thoughts on Gary Johnson, the Libertarian nominee nobody talks about?
That's not quite true. Many people kept insisting Trump was a joke. He would drop out. Other Republican candidates, such as Cruz, etc., would likely end up still running for President. I kept insisting otherwise. I was right...
You know, the guy who... Oh look at all the crazy things registered Libertarians are doing - what were we talking about?
Now that Breitbart people are taking over the Trump campaign, it should make for some interesting headlines...

All the Americans on my FB page have gone from 'Jesus-Christian-annoying-posters' to DON'T VOTE TRUMP, TRUMP IS TERRIBLE, TRUMP IS EVIL, YOU'RE A BAD CHRISTIAN IF YOU VOTE FOR TRUMP! I'm considering trolling them.
I thought this was pretty epic.......... “NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small.” ~ NYC Parks & Recreation spokesperson regarding nude Donald Trump statue.
That would also make you a bad Christian. I read that the other day. It must have been a fun morning in the Parks department drafting that release.
Yes, and Clinton, who condones allowing women to murder their unborn babies, um, I mean allow them to make their "choice," is who "good Christians" should vote for...: I think the standards that define a good Christian are slipping a little bit.
And then there's this...... “I’ll tell you what I don’t like,” Trump told George Stephanopoulos. “It’s against two NFL games. I got a letter from the NFL saying, “This is ridiculous.'” Just one problem with that: The NFL says it never sent him a letter. Whoops.................... I saw funny meme regarding Clinton that I thought I put on my fb page, but couldn't find it. Gotta look it up on the internet
I don't know if he does or if he doesn't. Trust me, that was merely one point about Clinton I was making. I can list PLENTY more of why I really don't like her. And, no, I'm not a mysoginist. I don't dislike her because she has a vagina. That seems to be in vogue to say about anybody who doesn't like Hillary. You, know, because there can't actually be LEGITIMATE reasons, apart from her gender, for disliking her. Kinda like how people can only dislike Obama because he's half black.
Oh sure, there is plenty of things about Clinton. Fortunately I don't have to mark a ballot, or a pull a lever for the election as it is particularly unpalatable either way. And I thought our last federal election was a wreck.
Realistically speaking abortion is never going to go away. At least not this side of heaven. It seems to me to make more sense to provide more practical sex education and good access to birth control as part of the process. Sometimes it seems like those most vocal about abortion essentially want to bang the drum about abstinence and for those who choose not to abstain (or who are sexually assaulted) the option is little more than "too bad, deal with it". If you've got a young woman who didn't expect to get pregnant (whether through lack of education or the "it won't happen to me" mindset) and is now standing in line at the abortion clinic because she has no idea how she could possibly cope with a baby, shouting at her calling her a baby killer isn't going to help and showing her pictures of bits of fetus in a bucket isn't going to help. The trouble is getting alongside her, supporting her for the remainder of her pregnancy and beyond takes a lot more effort and a lot more personal involvement than shouting abuse at her. And if she's desperately wanting to keep the baby but struggling to see how she can cope, facing one group that does little more than shout abuse at her and the staff at the abortion clinic who say they'll make the problem go away, why should anyone be surprised if she concludes that going through with the abortion is the right thing to do? In many ways the challenge to those who oppose abortion (myself included) is whether we would be willing to give that child a home, or at the very least offer tangible support to the mother who is determined to do her level best to be the best mother she can be, if we were able to persuade the mother-to-be to carry it to term.
