I immagine that most, if not all, of you have bumped into this song. This song has a story that touches me very personally. The part of the song I wish to direct your attention to is the third verse. Where it goes This verse was not in the original song. It was added later. Before it was added it was discovered written on the wall of a cell of a mental institution after the man who had lived there for many years had died. I won't try to claim that he wrote it, because I have since learned that he may not have. But he certainly knew what it meant. He KNEW the love of God. You see he had a sister. And she, and her husband NEVER stopped loving him. And NEVER stopped working with him. And here is where this story touches me. You see, his sister was my father's first Sunday school teacher. And her husband was my father's first Pastor. And my father is the one who taught me most of what I know of practical Christian living.
