Surely you have a favorite hymn about the Kingdom to come. What is yours and how in-line with the scriptures is it. My favorite is "What a Day that will be". WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE ------------------------------------------- There’s coming a day when no heartaches shall come No more clouds in the sky No more tears to dim the eye All is peace forever more On that happy golden shore What a day, glorious day that will be ------------------------------------- There will be no sorrows there No more burdens to bear No more sickness and, no more pain No more parting over there And forever I will be with the one who died for me What a day, glorious day that will be ------------Chorus------------------ What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see When I look upon His face the one who saved my by His grace When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land What a day, glorious day that will be
How about When The Role Is Called Up Yonder? Don't have the words. But from what I remember it is fairly scriptural.
When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more, And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore, And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there ----------------------------------------------------------- On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise, And the glory of His resurrection share When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies, And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there ------------Chorus------------------ When the roll, is called up yon-der, When the roll, is called up yon-der, When the roll, is called up yon-der, When the roll is called up yonder I?ll be there Very, very Amillennial!
"When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we'd first begun."
But that is almost a direct quote from Paul and it doesn't say when that will happen. It could be pre, post, or a, or something we haven't thought of.
Hen the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more. In that context, defiantly amill. A little help here!
Don't the amill's believe the trump of the Lord will sound and it's all gonna wrap up? Or am I being presumptuous?
I used to be solidly premillennial. But I’m re-examining and I’m far from done. I picked up a book of the amillennian view from a pastor named Kim Riddlebarger (Kim is a man) and haven’t read it yet.
Amill is an interesting historic view with several variations which were echo'd in the songs of the day.
