It's been pretty bad the last few weeks. I recommended burning the whole place down and rebuilding it.
If understood correctly, a user could inadverently click on a xxx bot created post and send malware into the server(s). I've perused several sites offering security software specifically for this, and even grasp some of the nomenclature. But, of course, a server admin should be able to configure registration and log-on protocalls or even various Captchas to stop machine posting. I suspect a major break in the possibly obsolete software/server. I mean, it's bad.
In the past, out of curiosity, I made a wordpress page. The number of daily spam was incredible. And you could buy several utils to avoid that.
You can mitigate almost all spam with Akismet (https://akismet.com/), provided the contact form solution you use supports it, and has been properly integrated with Akismet (the comment form, if you're using the default, or Jetpack powered form, is auto-protected by Akismet). In other news, I have a DE razor on the way :O
And whose wife shall she be in the resurrection? I love you techies, talking all techie and everything...
I believe there is a vBulletin application powered by Akismet. Edit: http://vb5support.com/admin_control_panel/settings/options/spam_management
So something changed for the better the last 6-8 years, that's about the time I tried. What I liked about Wordpress is that people can respond which is not so simple with regular web-pages. Don't hurt yourself !
I suspect the lack of a tech team and neglect of update/upgrade needs. The solution to the embarrassment is out there, however challenging. Should mind my own business.
I'm trying to be carful with my diet now so that when I turn 75 I can start and end every day with coffee and decadent pastries...
75 is still a long way, couldn't wait for that, actually I never cared much about my weight and can eat/drink whatever I want without the risk of overweight. Lucky me.
Not my best shave, but I didn't cut myself, and it came in at over 4x cheaper than the cartridges I've been using. The cost won't go up, but as I improve my technique (i.e. actually develop one) the shave will get better. Safety razor convert for life.
I've reached the ominous conclusion that the sawmill jackrabbit might be suicidal. Course, I think I would be too. Needs to count his blessings, however. I just accidently watched part of a Taylor Swift performance. Just shoot me.
