I was lucky enough to be able to see a pending redundancy several months before it happened, so was able to scale back well ahead of time. Sometimes I wish I'd squirreled away a bit more than I did but frankly felt the aggravations of the work and the commuting had become enough I didn't really want to go back for another round of it.
There are many times I want to take a step back and totally reassess everything I thought was true, spiritually speaking. Maybe there really will be a horrendous wake-up call when it's time to be judged and untold millions of people who thought they were ticking all the boxes will get that "I never knew you" talk.
You know what though, if it came to that, I don't know what else I'd do besides acknowledge that the responsibility for that rests on me. No begging, no lashing out, no finger-pointing at other people, no blaming God. Just the existential dread and horror that comes with realising a ahem up of that magnitude.
Particularly manifested in a general contempt for the brethren. The deceiver ultimately deceives his own self while talking a good game.
I’m ok with strugglers of the faith it’s the condescending ones that have everything figured out that make me want to vomit
Watched Jupiter and Venus conjoin tonight. Wasn't actually looking for it - right place & time while working. Amazing sight. Looked like a pair of headlights in the sky merge into one.
For lack of a better place to put it, has anyone listened to a podcast series called "Charismatic Revival Fury" hosted by "Straight White American Jesus". It's about a 6-part series. It is primarily about the New Apostolic Reformation initiated by C. Peter Wagner and links the history and development of this loose network affiliation of 'apostles' and prophets of the independent charismatic movement to the events of the Capitol riot on January 6, 2020. I found it particularly interesting in getting to know a bit about an area of Christianity that is outside my experience, but upon reflection, I have seen it's manifestation on many internet sources, particularly all the prophecy sites that abound these days.
Not familiar with that particular series. On the topic of the NAR I've found the writings of Holly Pivec and Doug Geithner to be interesting. Holly used to run (and may still run, I haven't looked in a while) a site called spiritoferror.org that looked at a lot of the practices associated with the NAR and how they deviate from Scripture. It's surprising just how far the tentacles of that garbage spread.
