If Israel of old might be confused with Israel of now but Egypt of old wouldn't be confused with Egypt of now, would the Jews of old be confused with the Jews of today? Inquiring minds want to know.
This reminds me of a quote from the Jewish author Isaac Bashevis Singer: "The Jews are a people who can't sleep themselves and let nobody else sleep..."
Hey, you know, it's easy to make fun of this thing, but I can see how someone might become confused between ancient Israel and the modern-day state. I'm sure that once they learn how to read that confusion will clear itself up on its own.
How many countries have disappeared and then been reinstated? I guess there's an outside chance that would cause some confusion, especially for the hard of comprehension.
