OK, I've never been a huge Stephen King fan, but some of his stuff is just fantastic. I've never even cracked the cover on The Dark Tower saga, but I did glance at the movie trailer for the DT opening this weekend. Anyone have any idea on whether it's worth the $5, I mean $10, I mean $19.95 a ticket to go see?
I have a Studio Movie Grill 1/2 mile from my house. I get Groupon tickets for $5 each, and then pay full price for dinner. It is really like eating out at an Applebee's or Chili's (plus popcorn)! But, if I go to the AMC that I really like, then yeah...$60+ for my wife and I plus popcorn and drinks.
From what I've heard the answer is no for a full price ticket. But if I could see it for only $5 bucks a ticket while eating a meal I'd certainly check it out myself. From what I've read they butchered the source material, and you would have to to make an 8 book epic fit a 95 minute movie, but since you've never read them what the heck.
Thanks. And Studio Movie Grill uses Orville Redenbacker popcorn and brings you a little cup of actual melted butter.... Mmmmm... decision made. Abandonning the office in a few minutes and headed out to pick up the redhead! Good weekend to all, my friends!
Please let us know what you think abut when you get the chance. Now I want some popcorn. Good thing I've got Orville's I can throw in the micro. Bonus points for hearing everyone that smells it asking "Who made popcorn?" while I munch away in my office because, LOL, the smell of popcorn turns human's into a pack of Pavlov's dogs. Good times!
Never was a huge Stephen King fan, but I agree with this. Dreamcatcher was an excellent read, IMHO. The movie disappointed beyond measure.
Also, waiting for IT to come out. Never read the book, so I'll be one of the uninitiated watching the movie. I'm mainly watching it because the story revolves around a clown. I love clowns.
