Well, If i recall my past, it is really fun to think about the things and mistakes you have done in your past. I mostly laugh at myself... how i was and how i am.. I used to be very naughty.. I remember my 1st game. My cousin owned a video game and i alwayas used to visit their home.. Just to watch the game they play. There was one game which i liked alot. It is named as ' Duck Hunt '. In which we have to hunt the ducks while holding the gun in hand and firing on them.. I still remember how cool it was.. What was your 1st game played ?
I'm pretty sure the 1st game I ever played involved some plastic doodad that made funny noises when pressed in certain places. Ahh, how I loved my doodad. Later I advanced to things like walking and being able to feed myself. Took some practice I can assure you, however, I persevered and was actually running eventually. Victory! And along the way were these little wooden blocks I could use to build things and round things called balls. And then...then I was allowed to venture outside and discovered sticks, dirt and rocks. It was a life changing moment!
The first computer game I played was one called Star Trek. You went around shooting Klingon's. It was written in Basic (quite a number of linked programs all very long) and the monitor was an old monochromatic affair and the computer was an old real to real memory thing. Old now, very modern back then.
That's pretty amazing. I didn't do anything with PC's until 81 or 82. I don't remember if the mouse was even being sold at the time or not but back then we were all doing everything via command lines. Anyway, yeah I used to love the old MUD, Roguelikes and text games like ZORK but I don't think I started playing them until..the late 80's? Right before before AOL became a thing.
Haha. Classic. I never had that one as a kid. My two boys love Monopoly. Little capitalists trying to destroy each other. Bonus is the 6 year old can add up all his cash into the thousands.
My first video game was Pong. We played it in "color", which meant green and white instead of black and white. Hahaha. My friends and I used to get together and play Atari when it came out in the early 80s. I loved Super Mario on the NES and we also played Duck Hunt in the early 90s. Video games sure have come a long way, haven't they? My family and I used to play Rummy (card game) and the German version of Sorry (board game) a lot also. I'm not a fan of Monopoly because it just drags on and on, but my kids love it, and Life also. My uncle and I used to play Risk together which was pretty fun.
One of my first memories of playing is of my cousin and I playing in the attic and getting in trouble because we were pushing each other around in some sort of thing with wheels that was actually designed for a doll (like a stroller or crib). We never were able to hold on to unbroken toys for very long because we had a knack for using them outside their "intended purpose". Good times.
