Okay so I guess they aren't in prison, or they would not be touring, or would they? They sound pretty amazing.
I've only heard 2 or 3 RUSH cover/tribute bands, with YYNOT being the one I've started recently following a bit. But I gotta say these guys are the best ones yet in terms of capturing the tone and sound of this song. The bass player really nails Geddy's bass tone to a tee. I gotta look them up. Have fun at the concert!
That drummer's kit is significantly smaller than Neil Peart's. I wonder if he'll do a 10-minute drum solo.
I thought the same thing and wondered if that drum kit was just used for the video due to space issues.
Oh, man. I loved me some Rush back in the day. The musicianship of Rush is PHENOMENAL. I saw them live once back in 2002. They were CRAZY GOOD. Anyway, this tribute band is really, really good. They sound a LOT like Rush. The singer/drummer’s singing voice sounds really similar to Geddy Lee and his drumming is really similar to Neil Peart’s drumming. Gotta give him props. I’m a drummer and I also sing, but, man, I can’t typically do both at the same time like this guy. Anyway, have fun at the concert. I’m sure you’ll be impressed with them.
Bands have in recent years going into studios and re-recording material. KISS did it. Journey did it. Stryper did it. If someone played this for me and told me Rush re-recorded Limelight, the only possible giveaway is the singing.
