Uh, oh! Woke up to a Star Trekky aural phenomenon thingy floating in near-space. Harbinger of another migraine? They say stress is not usually a factor. We shall see. Strange, ironic, emotional meltdowns occur on another forum in discussion concerning Internet/forum conduct etc. EPIc influence. Done wasting time - what is left, that is. I ramble. Back to the Kindle. Miles to go before I sleep in this cool, foggy paradise.
Are you using Mounce? This is the only year I've ever made a new year's resolution, and it's to learn Koine. Just finishing up chapter 13 in Mounce's book.
Sorry, to old to convert now. I can change one to the other when I have to (thanks especially to a conversion program on my phone) but my mind is permanently wired in the English system
Yes, and actually I just finished chapter 12. How do you find him? He seems to have a 'thing' against memorization that I don't quite understand, and some of his workbook exercises aren't that clear. For example, there was one translation exercise for chapter 11 that had both δέξηται and δέχεται, and he explains one but not the other. So, I went to his website to try out his dictionary and... no results, even though it finds δέχομαι and lists the other two in the concordance verses. Strange. Other than that I like the format, as it's given me time to correct my poor knowledge of English grammar.
I only noticed this a bit in the first few chapters. After that I started skimming the 'explanatory' text and just look at what is actually being taught. Most of the exercises are based on bibles verses... but the ones that aren't just happen to be the ones I have the hardest times translating. (And there isn't an answer key, at least as far as I have seen, other than that little list of bible verses at the end of the exercises.) I've noticed minor, minor mistakes a few times (e.g. once he forgot the soft breathing mark for Jesus' name). I wouldn't be surprised if he just absentmindedly forgot to provide those little helps in the exercises.
The answer key is available online, if you want it (just search 'BBG answer key'). It should come up with a link to his (teknia) site.
Official early retiree as of today with the option to work. Feel odd, slightly dignified and have, as yet, tons of work. Nothing changes except the quality of my singing voice - a marked improvement. a;m;e;n; 8)
Watching the world championship speed skating in Calgary (Canada). The skating rink is one of the fastest in the world (together with Salt Lake City) and I am hoping for new world records since it has been quite some time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_speed_skating_records
Spent the day with my newborn grandbaby and my lovely daughter at the hospital. I hate hospitals. But I love my kid and my grandkid, so there you go. Rinse, repeat tomorrow. Gonna continue to be scarce as attention keeps being directed elsewhere. I still love y'all. a;m;e;n;
I agree with you there. But, unfortunately, I end up having to spend time in them (especially since my gf and her sister end up in them regularly). I keep a clerical collar shirt and black jacket in the car for when I get an emergency call.
Decide to kick back, take it easy, then get all restless and ambitious - go figger ??? Sun shines brightly today; time's a waistin 8)
