Turned out my next door neighbor was able to use my concrete blocks so they are out of my way now.

Okay. New domain, new email. Go from there.
Not like I'm all that popular:(

Eventual new site will simply be a repository for compositions, tracts & articles.

Not being one for controversy, of course.

    Fun With Sanders.

We have an older bedside table that has a couple of nasty scratches in the finish. I sanded the top and managed to get it looking presentable but sanding one side was trickier because it had a much deeper scratch in it. I ended up sanding it right back to the bare wood to get rid of the scratch, so now I'll need to sand the rest of it and refinish it. It's a bit of a drag but it will look nice once it's done.

ETA: I have another unit in the garage that really needs some TLC. I bought it used from a local person who was moving, figuring I'd put it in the basement. When I got it home I decided I wanted to strip all the paint from it and refinish it, but stripping the paint looks like it's set to take a while. The finish gums up the belts on my belt sander, and a random orbital sander takes a while to cover the area. I'm hoping I can use the random orbital sander to break up the surface that gums up the belt sander, then use the belt sander to remove material quickly before putting some stain on it.

Your clues were sanders, older, nasty, trickier, drag, and gums...

I’ll take “who is Bernie” for $300, Alex.

Folks insist on building with wood and painting in hard winter areas - even plywood.
My plan is to replace a large porch/deck with a concrete block structure. The deck area (the top) and railing will be pressure-treated redwood.
The block structure will be an enclosed unit with room for lawnmowers etc and the steps will also be blocks.
Blocks absorb and hold paint well or they can be covered with faux masonry which I am considering for the entire foundation.
    Should look nice.

He's just trying to extend his yard a bit. The back end of the yard slopes, then slopes steeply down to the stream. He's using something solid that won't wash away so he can level off the shallower slopes.

I offered him several hundred pounds of drywall scraps but that's not what he needs. When I take down the next part of the chimney he'll probably take that too.... another 1500 pounds or so of concrete.

So what does it feel like to be a chimera? That is seriously what some people are saying we become with Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

Hey, just because your DNA is genetically altered it can't be all bad, right? :D

I mean, BigPharma(TM) has my best interests at heart.

Just like in Demolition Man... I'm much calmer, and I can knit a sweater in 20 minutes...

You mean you don't want to lose a couple of years to learning some headless graphql webpack statically generated monstrosity that will be out of date by the time you finish? For shame :p

Very nice -- I'll be getting my second within the next ~3 months. Apparently my health put me in with all the folk of a relatively greater age relative to those folk with a relatively younger age.
