It appears from Facebook that Tom went home to be with the Lord. Thanks to Liquid Tension for bringing this to my attention
I have a feeling that Tom himself isn't all that sad. Not great for his living family, but I'm relieved for him.
I barely knew Tom but still found myself feeling disconnected from the world when I read of his passing. I had hoped to meet V when we moved this side of the water but that never happened. I very nearly got to meet Tom but plans changed and he wasn't able to come close enough to make it work. Still seems wrong that he's not here any more.
I did get a chance to meet Tom. Several of us gathered in St Cloud when Tom was in the area. I agree with his family at his passing, but celebrate with him at his graduation.
I saw the status on FaceBook about 30 minutes from when it was posted. Gotta admit, I felt rather empty for a few minutes. Funny how there's some people you never meet face to face, but leave a bit of a void when they've moved on. As others have said, he's reunited with Lady V, and the party must be absolutely lit.
Between BF and PCIM many of us were members of OCF (Our Christian Fellowship). We had talked about having a “reunion” and all meeting at the Hayes in Ohio. Too bad it never happened. Never met either of them though our Floridian bunch all met Tom.
Yeah, that will always be a regret that a meetup did not happen. I really, really wanted to meet V and Tom. Gotta wait a few years now, but I think I can manage.
