In the interest of full transparency, I just posted the following in TheForumThatShallNotBeNamed in C2M at the request of The Rookie.

I figure this first post will make some folks choke.

Ha Ha ha - great thread title [IMG]

Thanks for reaching out via email my friend - I greatly appreciated it.

I also appreciate that you want to be reinstated to the forum -

One of the problems with what happened before is that both “sides” of the conflict don’t seem clear on what happened and why, leading to the break in relationship. For our part, on behalf of the team, I want to apologize for how things were handled before on our watch. As I understand what happened, our part involved poor communication without a clear and straightforward explanation of the issues and a potential resolution. Rather, we just broke things off abruptly and ended the relationships awkwardly, and for some, painfully. I don’t like that we did that and am thankful for a chance to set things right.

On your end, to be fair - you haven’t asked for this from me nor were you expecting this. I kind of sprang it on you here [IMG]

For the mods reading, RK here shot me an email simply asking to be reinstated with no need to rehash the past or talk anything through. He graciously conceded to my request to start this thread and talk it through a little bit. I’m glad for that. I want the chance to own from our end of things our part in this and genuinely apologize. Hope that’s okay.

On the flip side, the driving issue I remember from the past was that the primary “driver” of the conflict was our handling of Epi and his doctrine. There was intensity, demands made, doors slammed (proverbially) and another forum started out of frustration with the way things were handled here. Not sure if that’s exactly right, but that’s the best that I can remember it.

I don’t want to hash out the details of what I just wrote. I just want to commit together to work out conflict in a much more godly and righteous way together if a disagreement arises here in the future. I’m committing on my end to talk first, shoot later [IMG]

    What do you think?

    My response:

Thanks, David. I've always appreciated your spirit, even if your theology is all screwed up. (Wait, did I just type that out loud?) :D I gave up carry grudges long ago. They are just too heavy for this old boy.

Not interested in rehashing old history either. And I've lost a few brain cells since then, so memory is, as always, in the mind of the rememberer.

Although Epi was the locus of the intense discussions, the actual event was that one particular mod regularly instructed forum members that if they had a problem with a post to report it and to start a C2M thread to address it instead of going off on the public forum. Nothwithstanding the fact that I was (and continue to be) more than happy to challenge those who spout gnostic heresy, my interactions in that thread were far short of what others had said or what I had previously said. Intense is a good word. Well, anyway, this particular mod then did that exact thing, with open public rebukes, which was an absolute no no from my days as a moderator here. When I challenged the mod's action in the public forum, I was immediately banished for life. Frankly, the leadership "team" at that time, after my departure as a mod, was in such disarray that I'm surprised that the forum held together.

Don't care why. That was the end. I only ask to be treated as anyone else is treated. If folks want to have at it publicly, even mods or admins, they need to take it as well.

BTW, as a matter of trivial information. The "other forum," as I remember, had been up and running in various iterations for years in various formats prior to me ever even hearing of BF, so any angst that anyone has over the other forum is widely misplaced. For instance, I first "met" our old friend Firefighter online back in 2007, and had been a member of 2 fora he was involved with (and one he hosted) for years before I ever heard of BF. In fact, he's the one who invited me over here, as our forum was teeny tiny without a great deal of interaction. Just don't want folks thinking that the other forum was started in reaction to BF.

Great reply. And if there is conflict as to what happened, you’re the real lawyer.....seems to this tv watching law “expert” that the case should be dismissed.

Yeah. This is good. And attempting to dredge up the intricacies of past conficts is not only redundant but worldly anyhow.
    Starting anew in good faith.

That's what I attempted to do for Virginia. Have her exonerated. After numerous rewrites, they approved a forgiveness.
In C2M, the Rookie was in agreement to an exhoneration. It was turned down by the "members" who remain unnamed.
I'll not return there as long as (in my view) a blemish to her membership there.
In fact, I'm rather weary of this whole internet Christian thing.
    See ya!

I appreciate what you have shared TomH.
As someone not knowing V face to face, She was authentic, loving, vibrant and awesome, IMO.
I can hold her in my memory very well. Some folks just care about (?) I don't understand.

Online relationships are real relationships regardless of how real, or honest or hung up the participants are.
Online interaction in general has brought me to an interest in sociology as opposed (or addition to) my love of psychology.
I do not have to be face to face with anyone to "see" something from a sociological viewpoint. Groups of people will do what they will do, but why?

P.S. I thought Whatcha Doin' thread was not going to air BF stuff, as the last time I posted concerning something my post was deleted.
Not that I care either way, just trying to get up to speed here.

I am not confused. I am going to order dinner online because I can, and because I can't drive. Japanese Fusion. It has vegetables and protein with brown rice.

Ideally this isn’t a spot for BF discussion. Goodness, it’s almost as if we need a forum for it here. That would be weird. But it comes up enough.

I find it all interesting. Not so interesting: Goodfellas is on AMC right now. :p

I have to edit this. Robert De Niro is a great actor. His birthday is 8-17 so maybe that is why his films are on.

Moved to the office till we can clean it. Don’t want to delete it because it’s the story of Tango’s house.

The story of my house, that alone should have some comedy value to it. Imagine, if you will, Laurel and Hardy doing home renovation. Sometimes that's how I feel.

Today I was in the attic lifting floorboards. Many of them are breaking because when they were put in they were nailed down so hard there was obviously no thought given to the possibility someone might want to lift them up again. I'm pulling out lots and lots of big nails. Once I've cleared about 300 square feet I can lift the horrible cellulose insulation and lay nice fresh fiberglass.

You'd probably get tired of them if they were renovating your house. I know I do at times
