I don’t know what you consider “a lot.” Or “a few.” I merely meant to relay the fact that there ARE indeed shady prosecutors. I wasn’t particularly intending to quantify it to a specific number. I’m still trying to get statistics on lawyers being disbarred for unethical reasons. I just mentioned that because I don’t want people to assume I’m not even trying. I am at work, though, so I haven’t had as much time to look as I’d like.

WOW! Amazing to see all the reaction to this!!!!

IMO, I think ALL sides made WAY too much over this (as is, unfortunately, what our culture does these days)...

It's a CAKE. A bakery makes CAKES. Supplying a sugary bread to an event is just supplying a sugary bread to an event... it doensn't meant you APPROVE of anything except supplying a sugary bread to an event. If this had been a two-gender marriage, does accepting an order mean accepting that these two SHOULD be married? No! Maybe one or both are jerks, or too imature, or one is not a Christian or...... But hey, you are a BAKER and you accepted an order for a sugary cake. Or does this baker accept orders for Confirmation parties, what if the Confirmand is a CATHOLIC for heaven's sake! Hey, it's a CAKE!

On the other hand, if someone finds an order unacceptable or offensive, why should have HAVE TO fulfill it? Especially if theirs is not the only bakery within 100 miles.... Why force THIS baker to bake you a sugary bread? Rather than 5,547 other bakers who are glad to charge you $1000.00 for a cake that cost them $40.00?

In the USA, it's popular to make MUCH out of political correctness.... to the point of being silly.

Your emotional take on the injustices of our court system is reputable.

But your lack of understanding is deplorable.

You present your case with the insinuation that our system of trial has been flawed from the beginning. I would agree with you if the system continued using only evidences known to exist 120yrs ago.

The court system has advanced and improved dramatically over the years, and continues to improve.

Let's look at how the system has changed for the better (your idea of striving for perfection) over the past 120yrs with what has been accepted and used as evidence.

Fingerprints, handwriting, psychological evaluations, voice recordings, voice recognition, security videos, voice messages, texts, tweets, emails, voice mail,

And one of the biggies, DNA evidence.

And probably several others not on the top of my head just now.

So, although your emotional state is commendable, it has no place in trial in our court system.

Emotion is what was used in trial that resulted in 100% of midnight lynchings by guys in bedsheets.

The systems we have are the BEST that we have. Sorry Aaron, your emotions do not degrade that fact.

Speaking of emotions, why are you so UPSET because I don’t fall down and worship the ground judges, attorneys, etc., walk on? It seems to BOTHER you that I don’t sing the praises of our court system. Sure, it’s better than nothing. Sure, it’s better than it used to be, in some ways. But it’s NOT perfect. It’s also NOT great. It just “is.” I don’t care how wonderful YOU think it is. If I ever, for whatever reason, got charged and tried for a crime that I didn’t commit, I WOULD NOT be completely confident that I would be acquitted. I would HOPE I would be acquitted. But completely confident? Nope.

    First,
    I'm not upset.
    Second,
It's the best you'll ever get. That's second to none (IN THIS LIFETIME)
    Third,
You're free to relocate. (Please let us know where the system is better)
    Fourth,
Do you have suggestions on improvements to reach your goal?
    Fifth,
If you have no answers, may I just chalk this off as whinnying?

So what your saying Aaron, is that because of a half percent of prosecutors that are crooked and tying to put the innocent in jail, and the guilty on the streets, we should throw away the ENTIRE system. Yeah. Totally makes sense. Thankfully you're working on the perfect solution. Right?

Not what I said. I think I’m kinda done trying to explain what I said. If you, and others, haven’t figured out what I HAVE said, that’s your problem. I don’t particularly have the energy or desire to even care about it anymore. Good night, folks. I’m going to bed now...

This is now way off topic, and we're starting to veer into 'how many times do I have to say not to get personal' territory. Closed.
