As a Christian, I know we’re all supposed to love everybody. Our neighbors. Even our enemies. How do we make ourselves like everybody, though? Is it a sin not to? If it is a sin, how do we go about making ourselves like people that we just don’t like? I mean, let’s be real. We ALL have people we know that we don’t particularly like.
Sometimes the best way of loving someone is from a distance. And I see you used the word like instead of love. I can love someone simply because they are Gods creation. Doesn't mean I have to like them.
Well, how you feel about your friends. You “like” them. You also like people that are pleasant to you, or just pleasant to be around. How do we have that experience, as opposed to being annoyed, irritated, frustrated, etc., with people we don’t like? I mean, we’re Christians. Isn’t it a testimony about Jesus at work in us, or something, if we begin to like people that we normally don’t like? How do we begin that process?
I know Jesus has told us to love everyone, including our enemies. Can't seem to find your commandment to like anyone. Got a reference for me?
I don't "like" anyone. I love my friends. I have no relationship at all with people that I don't know or have contact with. I am responsible for allowing the Holy Spirit to live through me to develop and express the fruit of the Spirit in my live in my relationships with others. "like" isn't a part of that.
