Living in South Florida, I try to avoid going on vacation in July. Having said that, the family loves to go to the Disney water parks to cool off during the hot summer days.
The Swamp. Specifically the Everglades. I had the pleasure of visiting his church and got to hear a sermon.
It sure was. It was great to meet the Legend in person. I've had the pleasure to meet in person 4 people I met on BF. Cloudwalker (twice) McGyver Tom H Dani H
A dilapidated old mining ghost town in the Pintler mountains in Montana, called either "Hecla" or "Lyon," depending on where you are standing. Hamlet sits just above and just below the timber- line and is a regular haunt of bighorn sheep. Private property but the family owns one of the cabins there - relatively quiet.
Contrary to popular opinion Florida does have 4 seasons. 1. Not quite Summer 2. Summer 3. Not Summer but still hot 4. February
I recently got a message from the 'gators. It read "Send more tourists. The last one's were delicious."
Miami. My wife dragged me there last year. I thought it was going to be wall to wall "night club crowd" and overcommercialized beaches. Turns out, the place is a food mecca. Everything I ate down there was the best I ever ate of whatever I was eating. Fish tacos, cuban sandwhiches, steak, octopus salad, risotto, french fries... I'll go back as a first choice any time.
David (Cloudwalker) visited me for a week of his vacation even though I spent the majority of my time having to work. That was wonderful. Had one that came from BF that turned into disaster who will remain unnamed but who's initials are PP. That was no vacation.
I heard about that and I'm sorry. We staycation in our back yard and float about in our pool. Once in a while I drive the 20 minutes beachside and go for a nice long walk. Tennessee would be a close second. If I can't live near the ocean I would want to live in the foothills near a lake. I grew up by a river, and this girl's gotta have her water.
We are working on our riverside "surviving the end of the world" retreat 58 miles from here in the mountains. Although it is a break from my daily reality, it ain't no vacation during the remodeling phase! No, this vacation is going to be 5 days, 4 nights in St. Lucia. Sand. Heat. Wind. Salt Water. Many many food products. And no client emails or phone calls. Paradise.
Thanks. I enjoyed it as well. Was there when PP and family were around. You all were getting along pretty good back them, or so it seemed. Sorry it worked out the way it did. Suggestion. Leave the cell phone and computers at home.
