Recovering from dancing last night. Only 8 dancers so had to dance every dance and couldn't sit out for one to rest. It's been 3 weeks since we had enough to square up so was a bit out of shape. Might have been worse if I wasn't also line dancing.

 

Busy day today, and it ain't over yet...

 

Feeling much better. Had a chiropractor appointment this morning.

 

Saw a miracle yesterday.... crazy case that no one should ever pay any money on to settle resulted in a payment of $117,500 to the Plaintiff.

Inconceivable....

 

Wow. Nothing to $117G is pretty drastic.

 

It was insane. We had topped out our damages estimate at about $60K, but the issues were so weird that we were convinced that it would have to go to trial.

We were in mediation, and after 4+ hours of posturing, suddenly defendant's offer went from $12K to 45K. After that, it was just horse trading....

Lots of happy people. My only speculation is that the situation had a potential political tie to it, and they didn't want any publicity from a trial...
