Between tonight and tomorrow we’re supposed to get (I’ll Canadianize it) 15-30 cm.

The end of the driveway wasn't in a great state after yesterday's shoveling. The guy next door cleared enough space on the end of the drive way to get a single vehicle through and by then was sufficiently exhausted he basically said that was as good as it was going to get. And it worked, it just wanted to be a little wider. So today I took the snow shovel with the solid metal blade and smashed up a load of the ice, and widened the space by about five feet. You still wouldn't get two cars through side-by-side but it's much easier to see where it is, and it doesn't feel like pulling in and out of a really narrow space.

I also finished gluing up my new box, which is much prettier than the first box. Tomorrow I'm going to go and see the owner of the store, she wasn't in today.

Snowmeggedon completely missed me. Went North. Go 13 miles North and they have 6 inches.

Lazy-ish day today. Ran a couple of errands and stopped at a coffee shop for, well, coffee. And I totally buried my wife in a game of checkers. She very seldom beats me at checkers, but today was a spectacular burial.

We were supposed to be having friends around for dinner but they were sick so had to cancel. Maybe I'll do some more woodwork, maybe I'll shuffle some stuff out of the study in preparation for my demolition to commence. It's fun ripping down walls. It's not as much fun cleaning up afterwards.

My structural engineer BIL just informed us that the snow load design for our house is probably is a little over 2 feet. I think we are about 3 feet. Not that anything will fail, but there could possibly be some potential for deflection. The problem is, I don''t really have anywhere to put that snow from the roof down on the ground with any ease, except the front yard.

4°F, -15°C... Ice jams on the Missouri river causing a flood watch.

Well, of the useful things I thought might get done this evening I accomplished precisely none of them. Instead I sat in my recliner and watched a few episodes of Colony on Netflix with my wife. Not a hugely productive evening but enjoyable. The useful things can wait until tomorrow....

That's pretty cold. Cold enough that when you go indoors you could warm up by climbing inside your chest freezer.

Funny to think that a chest freezer could effectively become a heater.

Also, if you need to clean out the freezer, you can simply put everything outside for the duration.

Except then you have to put it back in the freezer to warm it up again :)

More or less unloaded about a 12-18 inches off the roof over the last couple of days. Now I have to dig out around some of the lower level windows.
The spring melt could make things 'interesting' out this way.
