Surviving the last days, will you be stockpiling for the end of the world?

I agree with hisleast. I don't buy into the seventieth week scenario so I don't think it will happen. But if it did, Chuck Norris couldn't stockpile without problems and threats to his safety.

Prepping for a natural disaster/EMP event/ civil unrest, if possible, makes good sense.

But even though I don't adhere to the 7 year trib thing, if I did, no amount of prepping would save you.

For that matter, even *IF* the 7 year trib scenario was a forgone conclusion.... you could find yourself in a slow, agonizing death anyway. Plenty of dead Christians in the middle east to attest to that.

Let me know how well you do during the trib. I will be waiting for you at the pearly gates

I agree on all counts here.

It's good to be ahead of the curve, so that if there is a "social blip" you're not left scrambling for whatever you can find. The "social blip" could be anything from the MAC running out of cash to the bank's computers going down to a delay in restocking your local supermarket (such that they run out of staples, which is far more of a problem than when Staples runs out of staples), to a hurricane to what some call TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It).

Trying to prepare for seven years when the sun is darkened, the waters turn to blood, locusts with tails like scorpions roam the earth and all the while the agents of the beast hunt down Christians for slaughter seems like an exercise in futility. It's pretty optimistic to expect to remain hidden in a space big enough to store enough food and water for even a small family for that long.

You just reminded me of a joke. Why in the world does Heaven have gates? What kind of neighborhood is it in anyways?

I don't think you could be prepared for the Trib- not that I think we'll be here when it comes- but you can prepare for something like an EMP blast or other things if you own enough land and have storage like I do.

Being in a or suburb or city would make it a lot harder to do unless you went whole hog and build an underground shelter or something. I'm not sure I would go that far myself.

    Dani You're probably fine.

Honestly I think "prepping" is just another word for "hoarding" and being made to sound more acceptable/legit by cloaking it in religious speak.

The early disciples thought the world was gonna end in their lifetime, and they shared everything and had all things in common.

Unless you're Joseph and God speaks to you specifically to prepare your country for an actual famine, there's really no biblical reason whatsoever for any of it.

Buying thousands of dollars worth of food that's claimed to stay good for 20 plus years seems like a scam to me.

Prepping isn't completely outlandish, just probably unnecessary, and is witness to the issue(s) of the preppers themselves. It's certainly no worse than the tribulation-porn that is popular eschatological fiction.

Tribulational porn - An interesting name for it. Although there was a bunch of fiction mixed in, how do you define it as porn?

It scratches an itch; it's bad eschatology that 'satisfies'; it twists one's ability to recognize eschatology (e.g. the traditional doctrine of 'final things'), etc. It also leads to 'God is not Dead syndrome', i.e., the unbelievers burn in hell at the end, bravo!

If the purpose of preparation is to share with those
God sends your way in the event of calamity, what's the beef.

Having been through multiple natural disasters, it's in my nature to be prepared to a reasonable extent. However, when it comes to the end and whatever that may exactly entail, I think it's pointless to stockpile gardening supplies and heirloom seeds because doing so is not going to thwart God's plan. It is what it is and that's the way it will be, regardless of whether or not you're hoarding a 10,000 gallon natural water tank on your 200 acres in the middle of nowhere.

    Hi folks!
You know, I believe that the Scripture says that if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we won't HAVE TO worry about "surviving" the Last Days. Actually, there will only be "Last Days" in a technical sense, because when the end of TIME comes, ETERNITY will have begun. Although we will physically die, unless we are alive when that time comes, we will all live FOREVER somewhere, either in Heaven with God or in Hell without Him and only forever flames to remind of all the opportunities we had to have a relationship with God. PLEASE choose the former!

Jesus will have come partly to the earth in the clouds, and we will have risen to meet Him as He comes to take us, His followers home to Heaven with Him. THEN will come the Tribulation, the most horrific occurrence in all recorded time, which everyone should want to avoid! But we WILL avoid it We will be in Heaven with Jesus during earth's most horrible time. Revelation chapters 6-18 give details of that time to come that end up terrifying people and giving them one excuse for not studying the Book of Revelation. (NOTE: I said EXCUSE, not REASON). The End Times for them will be so horrible that no hoarding of food or anything else will be sufficient to matter!
The ones who should worry about surviving the Last Days are the folks who refuse to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! Read Luke 16, which is NOT a parable but story about a beggar and a rich man who die. The beggar is carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom, a term to describe Paradise or Heaven. The rich man dies and in Hell lifts up His soul in torments, begging Abraham to send someone to warn His 5 brothers to avoid Hell. What is ironic about this story is that the beggar becomes rich in glories of Paradise, while the rich man becomes the beggar, pleading for a way out or Hell. SO sad! Note: he is told that would do not any good, because they wouldn't believe even though someone did rise from the dead to warn them. Don't be like them! Don't refuse to receive the forgiveness and salvation offered to YOU by Jesus Christ.

There's a lot more to the story of the End Times, and the best is yet to come for the believer, says Rev. 19-21! There is great news there! Don't try hoarding physical food for the End Times. Instead, come to the Lords' invitation to His table, actually a wedding feast for His Bride, the Church, those who have received and followed Him. Don't spend eternity in Hell wishing with all your heart that you had made the choice to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

You see, you can do nothing to earn that eternity in Heaven and you can never commit a sin too big for God to forgive, if you'll let Him! I'd far rather avoid all that horrible time of Tribulation that Revelation spends so much of its book trying to guide you to avoid. Jesus died on a cruel cross to forgive YOUR sins, if you ask Him in repentance and faith! If you have never done so, let this be the "End Times" of your going your own way, and do an about face to walk with Jesus, far above all the horrors of the Tribulation! Romans 8:1 tells us that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus! Are you one of them? I pray so,

If you make that first-time decision to receive Jesus, Parson Tim and I would love to know about it! Share in this forum or E-mail me. I'm at preachwife6@aol.com.
