    Dani You're probably fine.

I know many of us here love to read, and it's been a while since we had a chance to talk about it.

So what are you reading right now?

I'm halfway through book 1 of "The World's Great Sermons" which I recently picked up again. I've also been slooowly working my way through "History of the Christian Church".

I've mostly been reading articles and blogs lately. Been a while since I read all the way through an actual book. Except for school which in my mind doesn't really count ...

A bunch of online dystopia stuff.

    No zombies. Zombies are stupid.

I so agree. I don't understand the zombie craze at all.

    Besides daily Bible reading:

The complete works of H.P. Lovecraft. It's been a few years since I read them.
I just finished a series named The Dresden Files. I guess the genre is "Urban Fantasy" but to me it's a mix of detective fiction, fantasy and comedy. Good stuff.

The Bible mostly. And I've been streaming a bunch of videos from different ministers.

I read the first 2 Dresden books but couldn't get into the third ...

A couple of the Dresden books do drag a bit. But these kinds of things are subjective anyway, yeah? I've had people recommend books to me that they said were "Incredible!" but I couldn't even finish them.

With your vast gif collection, we should have used more pictures.

Currently Dragons of an Autumn Moon and Bearing an Hourglass, principally. Have a number of others that I'm reading as well.

Yes, very subjective indeed. I thought the Harry Potter series was really good until it started dragging around book 5. I had a hard time finishing 7. Too long. I watched about 5 minutes of "Twilight" and couldn't even. I love the fantasy genre, but I'd rather read the lore of some of my video games than a lot of the more popular stuff out there. Give me an actual good story with intersting characters, rather than contrived juvenile fluff ...

I, on the other hand, enjoyed the Harry Potter series. Some of the books more than others, I will agree. And one of my favorite chapters is in the 7th book. It is the one where Harry meets with Dumbledore.

Well that's the great thing about books. The older stuff is still there able to be read and there's a plethora of great works waiting to be discovered by younger generations.
And I've found that some video games have stories just as interesting and satisfying as any of the fiction I've read.

Just started "reading" some of the James Patterson books. (The quotes are because they are audio books that I listen to as I drive). Thourally enjoying them

I've read quite a few of his books including the Alex Cross ones and standalone novels and enjoyed them. Sometimes I want deep and thought provoking and sometimes I want pulp fiction and Patterson fills that P.F. role the same way Dashiell Hammett, Jonathan Kellerman, Raymond Chandler and ( IMO ) Jim Butcher do. It's good stuff and I love it.

Edit to say: Dean Koontz just sprang into my head as well. He's a very prolific pulp fiction writer ( IMO ) that I love to read.

The Patterson books I am currently "reading" are the witch and wizard ones.

My wand is a copy of Black's wand.
