Parsons Corner Question Does any church preach on the similarities of the USA and Israel and Judah before they were judged Comments???
I have heard many based upon warnings such as Ezekial 16:49,50 "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good." Also Jeremiah etc.. "Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? Jer 9:9

Of course the actual history of the U.S. is way more complex than that, and whatever the Puritans agreed upon and ratified amongst themselves ended up being superseded by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution anyway (whereas the 10 Commandments were in fact Israel's "Constitution" and the other laws were their actual legal codex upon which their entire society was built), but I guess it all depends on how you look at history and what you choose to pull out of it to teach as "truth".
I've more heard comparisons between the USA and Sodom and Gammora, or the world just before the flood.
