Ever have it? I mean trying to do good and evil things happen.

I'll give you a for instance. Normally it's quiet in my office. Here I am loading our new software for the forum and new domain, not even a mouse moving around to disturb the quiet. I get started on the database transfer and out of the blue, a local addict comes into the office making a nuisance of himself. While he's here, the phone starts ringing from a family that wants help continually but won't do what's needed to fix their problems. Then a call comes in from dispatch for me to go to an address to see to an animal problem from a scared little old lady. Turns out there was nothing for her to even be scared about. Had to drive to the entire opposite end of the county on that one to boot!

Yeah, I know a pastor/chaplain/deputy should expect things like that, but I got so discombobulated, when I finally set back down to the computer, I blew the database for the old forum to pieces. My bad. I really am sorry about that one folks. Should have prayed before even attempting to handle anything so delicate. Got so aggravated, I almost let the former sailor in me come out. Thank the Lord, I didn't open my mouth and say what was on my heart.

How's this for a rant??? Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

I once made a statement from the pulpit that the heart was plumb evil. Had a lay leader attempt to correct me that once saved, the heart was no longer evil. I quoted a verse to the contrary.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 17:10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
I haven't seen anything to the contrary.

What about where God says that he will "remove our hearts of stone and give us hearts of flesh."

    He's referring to Ezekiel 36:26.
